The financial potential of CANTREAT

According to the European Cancer Information System (ECIS), there were 2.68 million new cancer cases in the EU in 2020 (Austria: 44,294, Germany: 538,140).

According to the German Cancer Society, between 6 and 16 doses are administered as part of chemotherapy. Depending on the success of the treatment, further treatment cycles may also be necessary. Chemo therapies are often used before and after operations or as the only measure to treat tumors.

Assuming an average of 10 treatments per patient with costs of at least 2,000 euros per treatment, this results in a market volume of 53.6 billion euros in the EU alone!
